It belonged to my German grandmother who routinely made traditional German cookies called “Springerele” which were like flavored sugar cookies. Her unique rolling pin has 12 hand-carved designs on it…birds, flowers and fruit, just to name a few…which then made images onto the dough when rolled. Once baked, they were then individually cut and enjoyed!
It’s 14-1/2” long, the barrel is 5-3/4” long x 2” wide and rolls easily. The wood is solid with no split. Lovingly used for years, it’s in good antique condition, was made in U.S. Zone-Germany, and would be perfect for any kitchen or as an addition to any World War II memorabilia collection!
