Produced in 1936-1937, this is a Mannheim-type 10” merchants' slide rule in mahogany and laminated with white celluloid plastic. The slider (marked 802337) fits into and slides smoothly in grooves on the top and sides of the rule’s body. On the backside of the rule, there’s an inset printed table of settings, formulas and ratios. The slide rule 10-5/8" long x 1-5/16" high x 3/8" thick. It has a Patent Number 1,934,232 and is in excellent vintage condition but it's missing its sliding cursor piece.
The original leather case measures 12” long x 2 1/4” wide. There’s a flap closure with brass studs. The case closes properly, but it is cracked from age, and the bottom, although stitch intact, is open. It has a Patent Number 2,000,337.
