This glass & pewter mug/stein/tankard was released in the mid-1980s by Old Spice in a combination aftershave/mug gift box. Made in West Germany by ALWE, it has an etched image of a sailboat with a “Columbia 1901” banner beneath the image. It also has a thumb rest on its cast pewter lid. The words “Old Spice” and “W. Germany” are stamped on the thumb rest post and “ALWE” is stamped on the underside of the glass base.

The mug, which will hold 20 oz of your favorite beverage, is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips in the glass and no dents in the pewter. From use, the “1” in “1901” has been rubbed off but it does not at all affect the overall stately appearance of this beautiful tankard. With the lid closed it measures 6.5” tall and the base is 3.75” diameter. The lid has an anchor embossed on the top of it and the overall weight of the tankard is a solid 2.7 lbs.
