This classic hot and cold server chrome ice bucket was produced by the West Bend Aluminum Company in Wisconsin in the 1950s. The bucket handles are tortoise Bakelite, and they were created after the flippers of a penguin because the bucket has 8 raised and embossed penguins who are following each other all around it! It was designed to insulate hot or cold foods but is mostly used as an ice bucket. There’s definitely a cool vintage look to this piece!

The bottom of the ice bucket reads: West Bend – Penguin – Hot & Cold Server – Product of The West Bend Co. West Bend Wisconsin. Made in U.S.A – Patent No. 2.349.099.

10” wide handle to handle x 5-3/4” high, it’s in excellent vintage condition with no rust, staining or repairs but it does have a small dent. It does not come with a lid.

This is a beautiful vintage piece that is perfect for all occasions, and it’ll be a great addition to your Mid-Century Modern bar cart!
