It is qualified for HP's "Instant Ink" program, where cost of ink is based on number of pages regardless of how much ink each page uses.
Printing photos is notorious for using a lot of ink, so those expensive cartridges you buy at the store don't last long. It could cost you $2 or $3, or more, in ink to print a single page!
See the HP ink plans in the attached photos to see just how cheaply you can print your own, beautiful photos at home with just about any graphics or photo program you probably already have, such as Microsoft Paint.
As I said, this is brand new, my wife was planning on using it to print out all of our digital photos, but ended up having other projects with more priority.
It comes with ink cartridges to get you started, then sign up for Instant Ink and they will send you replacement cartridges in the mail when the ink is getting low.
