SUMMARY
A growing manufacturing and distribution environment is seeking a dependable Shipping Packer to support outbound logistics and order fulfillment operations. This position plays an important role in ensuring finished products are packaged accurately, prepared safely, and shipped on time to customers. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on warehouse work, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and takes pride in maintaining accuracy and organization throughout the shipping process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review completed orders, production paperwork, and shipping instructions to confirm accuracy prior to shipment.
- Prepare products for outbound delivery using cartons, pallets, stretch wrap, banding, and other protective packaging materials.
- Apply shipping labels, handling instructions, and customer-required documentation to outbound freight.
- Build and organize palletized shipments to ensure safe transportation and efficient loading.
- Generate shipping paperwork including packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOLs), manifests, and carrier documentation.
- Coordinate pickups and schedules with freight companies, parcel carriers, and transportation providers.
- Enter shipment details, tracking information, weights, and dimensions into shipping or ERP systems.
- Maintain staging areas and assist with inventory organization for completed products awaiting shipment.
- Load outbound trucks and trailers while ensuring freight is properly secured.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Support warehouse cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures.
- Follow company safety standards and loading dock protocols at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–2 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or freight coordination environments.
- Experience handling LTL shipments, freight carriers, shipping paperwork, or outbound logistics operations preferred.
- Familiarity with Bills of Lading, shipping systems, online tracking tools, and ERP software is beneficial.
- Comfortable using computers and warehouse-related software applications.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to verify order accuracy and documentation.
- Capable of standing, walking, lifting, and moving materials up to 50 lbs. independently.
- Reliable work ethic with strong organizational and communication skills.
