This is a LESLIE Model 710 ROTOSONIC Organ Speaker in Cabinet. The rotosonic speaker is used with certain models of Hammond organs, and is very popular with musicians, especially rock for its excellent sound quality and unique rotating design.
The most popular and highly valued version of this has a tube type amplifier, the tube type version typically sells for several thousand dollars. This one is Solid State, which is not valued as high as the tube type version, but it also provides excellent quality sound with the rotating speaker, with the same appearance.
I came across this speaker after a friend purchased a building used by a Christian TV station in Akron. In the main room was a Hammond organ and this speaker. He didn’t realize the value of this organ and one of his workers took it so I did not have a chance to check the speaker with the organ. When he told me what was in the building I asked him to save the speaker please and I would find a home for it.
While I cannot confirm this speaker works well because I did not have the organ to check it,I think it’s likely it does. This building was used for a Christian TV station, there was no junk or trash in the building, it was nice and clean, and sinceand both the organ and speaker were saved I can’t imagine they would have saved them if they were broken.
I priced it $500 and reduced it to $400. My price also includes the cord connecting the speaker to the organ which typically cells in the $150-$250 Range by itself.
I believe this is a very good price for this. I found one Leslie 710 listed online right priced at $800 - the listing stated the condition is unknown.
The most recent sale for a 710 was $500 plus shipping and that condition was also unknown. The sale was in October
Again, this one also includes the cord which averages between $150 and $250 on eBay.
Looking this up on a website for Leslie enthusiasts, the value is estimated at $400-$500 if it’s not known whether it works or not. It says that value is increased if there are any accessories like a cord is included, and this one includes the cord.
What you see in the photos is what is available. This speaker and a long cord connecting this with the organ.
If you’re interested please call or text between 8 AM and 7 PM. I might consider a little less for this, I’ve had it several months and I would like to find a good home for it.
